Some babies find the birthing process a stressful experience. These stresses and strains inflicted on them can be retained, and manifests as restlessness and irritability. Compression of the delicate bones of babies’ skulls and irritation of nerves can result in difficulty latching on to the breast or colic.
A cranial osteopath is trained to use gentle techniques to assess and release some of these very subtle strains in a baby’s head and body. This can help to relieve discomfort and allow the body to resolve naturally, so that babies can sleep better, feed better and grow healthier.
